๐ What is Chuseok๐
Chuseok ("choo-suhk") is one of the biggest holidays in Korea. It is sometimes referred to as “Korean Thanksgiving” because it’s a special time for family, friends, and food.
It’s a time when families gather together to give thanks to their ancestors for an abundant autumn harvest.
Chuseok (์ถ์) is a three-day holiday that is celebrated every fall. It is a traditional holiday where people go back to their hometowns to show appreciation for the fall food harvest.
Chuseok is one of Korea’s biggest and most important holidays and an essential aspect of Korean culture.
And chuseok has a different name, which is Han-gawi. This word is another term that refers Chuseok.
Just like Thanksgiving, Chuseok has a Holiday period!
Since Chuseok Season is depends on Lunar Calender. This year will be between September 28th to Ocotober 3rd!
And Chuseok will be 29th September!
It’s the other time of the year in Korea besides Lunar New Year’s Day, aka Seollal (์ค๋ ), when family members gather together. Usually, this means traveling to the home of the head of the family,
often one’s grandparents. Since the destinations are often outside of the big cities, this creates incredible traffic jams all over the country.
If you plan to travel to Korea during this time, be sure to plan accordingly. Many tickets for buses, planes, and trains are sold out in advance.

A market fit for a King! Nammun Market was established 220 years ago by King Jeongjo of Chosun.It's the only market
founded by a monarch. It's currently the largest market in Suwon. There are over 80 stalls that are selling a variety of food
and goods, so you'll definetly find something to your liking.
Have you tried kkwabaegi? Korean, twisted, fried donuts!
Maybe try some galbi? It's the specialty of Suwon!
♣ Hwaseong Fortress ♣
On December 12, 1997, the city's fortress, Hwaseong, was recognized for its historical significance when it was named a
UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site. The walls span an impressing 5,700 kilometers. It was built between
1794 and 1796 and was created as a symbol of King Jeongjo's duty and respect to his father, Prince Sado.

Korean Folk Village was built with the goal of showcasing Koreas rich and deep culture.
The Joseon era village in Korean Folk Village is made up of actual authentic houses that have been moved and rebuilt
from various parts of the country. You'll be able to experience all kinds of Korean History and Culture. Everythign from food, music, performences and so on. It's like traveling back in time! It is more or less like a living museum.
