This 5-day market was held in the Jungang-dong area of Wonju in the 1950s,ย
it became the current permanent market, Jungang Market.
ย It was built as a reinforced concrete building in the 1970s and led theย
commercial district of Wonju City.
After the opening of the Yeongdong Expressway, it moved away fromย
the existing wholesale center.
ย As restaurants and various stores began to open, food alleys naturally appeared,ย
and thanks to the advantage of being close to Hoengseong,ย
alleys specializing in special parts of beef also emerged.
