This 5-day market was held in the Jungang-dong area of Wonju in the 1950s,
it became the current permanent market, Jungang Market.
It was built as a reinforced concrete building in the 1970s and led the
commercial district of Wonju City.
After the opening of the Yeongdong Expressway, it moved away from
the existing wholesale center.
As restaurants and various stores began to open, food alleys naturally appeared,
and thanks to the advantage of being close to Hoengseong,
alleys specializing in special parts of beef also emerged.

Located in Hwangdun-ri, Sillim-myeon, Wonju-si, Gangwon-do, it was established in 2009
as part of Gangwon-do's Hwangdun Songgye Chamsali Health Village project.
